THIS almost ordinary Crows Nest home has been attracting buyers all week long, landing it the title of the most popular home in NSW.
The 7 Brook St house was the most clicked on property on Realestate.com.au this week, taking McGrath Crows Nest agent Debbie Chadwick by surprise.
“It’s so well priced, that’s probably why it’s had so much traction,” Ms Chadwick said.
Indeed, with a price guide of $1.6 million for a freestanding home on the lower north shore, it’s easy to see why buyers would be beating down the door.
“We had the first open last Saturday and it was the most well attended open home of the day,” Ms Chadwick said.
The four-bedroom, two-bathroom home has been renovated at some stage in the past 20 years, but could do with a fresh lick of paint.
It spans two levels with a kitchen and dining zone on the ground floor, which opens out to a rear courtyard. There’s also a ground level living room, bathroom and bedroom with study. Upstairs are the three remaining bedrooms including the main with ensuite. There’s also parking for one car.
Ms Chadwick said the price point wasn’t the only thing drawing in buyers.
“It’s an awesome location,” she said.
“Crows Nest always draws a big crowd because it’s so tightly held.
“It’s walking distance to both the local public schools, Anzac Park Public and Cammeraygal for older kids, it’s about a 10 minute walk to St Leonards station, five to six minutes in to Crows Nest Town Centre and just one traffic light to the city.”
The agent said she would be surprised if the eventual buyer was a young family looking to upsize from an apartment nearby.
“It’s ideal for young families who want to live and stay in this area,” Ms Chadwick said.
The owners are a family of four who are moving up to Toowoomba with their two dogs, to be closer to family.
The home has a scheduled auction day of March 17.
